看苏族历史人物名,感受北美土著文化~

多年前看电影《与狼共舞》,对里面的Kicking Bird, Ten Bears, Wind in His Hair等苏族印第安人角色记忆犹新,尤其是他们这种“纯天然的”或“以某一事件或情景”给人起名字的方式更是让人印象深刻(后来查发现Kicking Bird和Ten Bears历史上却有其人)。
下面是转自维基百科“苏族”词条中所列的一些人名,每行开头是该族语言发音(初步了解苏族语言分为dakota和lakota两个分支),括号中是其释义。不乏有野性的(如Conquering Bear),有诗意的(如Rain in The Face),还有逗比的(如Sleepy Eye)。

as an elephant keeper. He died frompneumonia on July 28, 1929. His interment was at Gorton's cemetery.
